What you'll need

📲

The Google Health app

Apex Trace reads your data through the Google Health API.

A Fitbit account

Your Fitbit account syncing into Google Health.

📱

iOS 15+ or Android 9+

Apex Trace runs natively on both platforms.

No account with us

There's nothing to sign up for. Buy, connect, done.

New to this? Apex Trace ships with a full sample mode, so you can see exactly what the dashboard looks like before you buy or connect anything.

The problem

You track your health. The default dashboard doesn't do it justice.

Your wearable captures a remarkable amount about your sleep, activity, and heart. Then it shows it to you in flat charts and locks the good insights behind a monthly subscription.

Apex Trace re-renders the same data as a dashboard worth opening every morning — and keeps every byte of it on your phone.

The screens

Four views, every metric you care about.

Today

Your whole day at a glance

Animated ring gauges for your key metrics, with an at-a-glance readiness estimate computed from your own data.

Sleep

A real hypnogram

Stages, timing, and how last night compares to your baseline. Finally readable.

Fitness

Effort & consistency over time

Activity heatmaps and heart-rate zones that show how hard and how often — not just a single number.

Trends

What's actually changing

Long-term patterns across your metrics — week over week, month over month, in a GitHub-style heatmap.

Readiness, sleep, and cardio-load figures are Apex Trace's own estimates to help you spot patterns — not medical advice, and not Fitbit's official scores.

The real thing

Straight from the app.

Captured on iPhone in sample mode — exactly what you'll see, before you connect anything.

The differentiator

Private by design — not by promise.

Questions

Good to know.

What is Apex Trace?+

Apex Trace is a privacy-first health dashboard app for iOS and Android that turns your Fitbit data, read via the Google Health API, into a dark, animated dashboard — entirely on your phone. It is free to download with a full sample mode, and a one-time $6.99 unlock connects your real data. No account, no backend, no ads.

Do I need a Fitbit?+

Yes. Apex Trace reads your Fitbit data through the Google Health API, so you'll need a Fitbit account syncing into Google Health. It doesn't connect to Fitbit directly.

Is this a subscription?+

No subscription is required. Apex Trace is a free download with full sample mode, and connecting your real data is a single one-time $6.99 in-app purchase. An optional Supporter subscription exists, but it only adds cosmetic extras (chart palettes and a badge) — every health feature is included in the one-time unlock.

Can I try it before buying?+

Yes — sample mode shows the full dashboard with example data, so you know exactly what you're getting.

Which devices and platforms does it support?+

Apex Trace runs on iOS 15 or later and Android 9 or later. It works with an account that syncs into the Google Health app (most commonly a Fitbit account) — it doesn't connect to any wearable directly.

Where is my data stored?+

On your device, only. Apex Trace has no backend, so your health data never leaves your phone.

Does Apex Trace work offline?+

Yes. Your dashboard renders from data already stored on your device, so browsing works offline. An internet connection is only needed to sync new data from the Google Health API.

How are the scores calculated?+

Readiness, Sleep, Cardio Load, Calm, and Body Age are computed on your phone from your own data, and every formula is published in plain language on the methodology page. They're estimates to help you spot patterns — not medical advice.

Is Apex Trace an alternative to Fitbit Premium?+

Apex Trace is an independent app that offers its own daily readiness, sleep, and cardio-load estimates for a one-time $6.99 unlock instead of a monthly subscription. Its scores are computed on your device with published formulas — they are Apex Trace's own estimates, not Fitbit's official scores. See the full comparison.

What happens if I disconnect?+

Apex Trace revokes its access with Google and deletes all cached data and tokens from your device.
